emerald-ash-borer

November 10th from 3:30 to 4:30 pm – for all ages

This free program will talk about the threat that the Asian Longhorned Beetle, Emerald Ash Borer and Hemlock Woolly Adelgid are to Vermont’s trees and economy.

It will also focus on how to identify these three major pests (including sharing samples for people to see), how to help prevent infestations caused by the movement of firewood, and what to do if somebody sees one of the invaders.

Hand-outs to help in identification will be available for all participants to take home. Bug tattoos for the young ones!

This program will be led by Carolyn & Gary Katz, with materials and information gleaned from a University of Vermont Extension Service seminar.
